Carefully package and post your clothing items to HillsMade.
Please ensure all clothing is freshly washed before sending.
If you’re unsure whether certain items are suitable, feel free to contact us before posting.

3. Your Keepsake Is Carefully Created
Each clothing piece is individually prepared, stabilised, cut, arranged, and sewn with care to create a balanced and beautiful keepsake quilt.
Because every order is unique, each keepsake layout is thoughtfully designed based on the clothing provided.

4. Receive Your Keepsake
Your completed memory quilt is beautifully packaged and shipped back to you, ready to be treasured forever.
Unused fabric and clothing remnants are returned with your order unless requested otherwise.

How many clothing items do I need?
This depends on the quilt size and clothing size.
As a guide:
- Mini Quilt: approx. 10-12 items
- Baby Quilt: approx. 15–20 items
- Toddler Quilt: approx. 18–25 items
- Standard Quilt: approx. 25-30items
- Large Quilt: approx. 38–45 items
Smaller baby sizes may require additional pieces.
Can I include names or special details?
Yes. Optional appliqué names and embroidery can be added for an additional fee.
What clothing can be used?

Yes. Any unused fabric and clothing remnants are returned with your completed quilt unless requested otherwise.
What backing fabric do you use?
Standard quilts include a high-quality cotton backing.
Optional upgrades such as minky fleece or premium plush backing are also available.
What if I don’t have enough clothing?
If needed, we can incorporate coordinating fabrics to complete your quilt while still preserving the overall sentimental feel.
Can you include special features from the clothing?
Yes! Wherever possible we love incorporating meaningful details such as:
- Shirt collars
- Buttons
- Pockets
- Logos
- Embroidery
- Appliqué designs

We'll always make the best use of your garments while maintaining the quality and durability of your keepsake.
Can I request a specific layout?
Yes. If you have a preferred arrangement or would like certain garments featured prominently, simply include a note with your order. We'll do our best to accommodate your requests while creating a balanced and beautiful design.
Can I combine clothing from multiple family members?
Absolutely. Many customers choose to combine clothing from parents, grandparents, siblings or multiple children to create one meaningful keepsake that celebrates an entire family's memories.
Do you use every piece of clothing?
We do our very best to incorporate as much of your clothing as possible. However, depending on the design, size and condition of the garments, not every section may be used.
Can I personalise my keepsake?
Yes. Many of our keepsakes can be personalised with an appliqué name, wording or embroidery. Optional upgrades such as premium backing fabrics are also available for memory quilts.
How do I send my clothing?
After placing your order, you'll receive instructions on where to send your garments. We recommend using tracked postage for peace of mind.
Please contact for a local drop off arrangement if you want to deliver the clothes in person.
Can you make multiple keepsakes from the same clothing?
Yes! Many families choose to create matching keepsakes such as a quilt and cushion, multiple memory bears, or several cushions for family members. If you're planning multiple items, get in touch before ordering so we can advise whether you have enough clothing.
Do I have to pay to send my clothing to you?
Yes. Customers are responsible for the cost of posting their clothing to Hills Made. We recommend using a tracked postal service so you can monitor your parcel and have added peace of mind while your treasured garments are in transit.
If you're local to the Hills District in Sydney, you're welcome to arrange a drop-off instead. Simply get in touch before placing your order to organise a suitable time.
Do you return any unused clothing?
Yes. Unless you've requested otherwise, we'll return any unused fabric with your completed keepsake.
How long does it take?
Current turnaround time is approximately 6–10 weeks from the time your clothing is received.
During busy periods, turnaround times may vary slightly.
